Lila Blue is a singer songwriter from New York City who moved to San Francisco in 2011. At just 16 years old, Lila Blue has proven herself to be an accomplished recording artist, theatrical composer, and multi-instrumentalist.
Her songs seem to flow from some deep and ageless source. Her vocal phrasing still carries the sweetness of youth, but the lyrics resonate with the shadows and complexity of an older soul. This is poetry wed to music.
Lila's new and second album, THE HOLLOWS HOLD THE HEALING, (release date Nov 11th / ONErpm) witnesses her intensifying musical and life perspective, and is a fearless exploration into the often hidden crevices of the heart, mind, and soul. Co-producing the album with renown one-man-band, musician, writer and producer, Phillip Roebuck, the sound of "Hollows" is raw and direct, recorded primarily live in studio.
Lila started writing songs at the age of 8, inspired by Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell, and Regina Spektor; first using the ukulele, then moving into guitar, bass, and piano. From the ages of 10-14 she composed music for an experimental theater collective, The Lake Lucille Chekhov Project, which continues to this day. Out of that experience, she conceptualized and recorded her first album, Lucille, released in 2014 (2015?), produced by Steve Lomprey at the renowned San Francisco studio, Tiny Telephone.
Golden Globe winning actress, writer, director, and producer Lena Dunham, featured "Lucille" on her "Lenny Letter" summer listening list, declaring, "I am fucking obsessed with Lila Blue, a 16 year old from San Francisco who breaks my heart then pieces it back together again with her ukulele. Her maturity (and voice) are an astonishing gift. Her debut album Lucille, recorded when she was just 13, is music for getting well to."
Lila has been performing solo at clubs and festivals in San Francisco and New York, Stanford University, KPFA and KUSF live in studio performances, and as a Special Guest Vocalist for Noche Flamenca at New York's Lincoln Center Out of Doors summer series.
We are just at the beginning of Lila Blue's musical journey, which promises to take us deep down into our own hidden depths and back to the light again, perhaps healing a few scars along the way. And we're all the better for it.
Both albums are available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and all major digital distributors and streaming services.

HERE"S A QUOTE FROM AN iTUNES REVIEWER:
"A little shocking she's 15 years old because these songs seem to flow
from some deep and ageless source. Her vocal phrasing still carries the sweetness of youth but the lyrics resonate with the shadows and complexity of an older soul. This is poetry wed to music."
